Class descriptions

Group fitness classes are a fun and interactive way to get fit and healthy – a great workout for all ages and fitness levels, and to help you stay motivated.

We have more than 50 classes at the Wangaratta Indoor Sports and Aquatic Centre including aqua aerobics and circuit training. We have both low and high impact activities to suit any age or fitness level.

Class descriptions

“General” Group Fitness classes:

ATHLETIC STEP

Higher intensty step class focussed on more complex moves.

BODY ATTACK

High intensity, lively and energetic - you will love this fast-paced calorie killer!

BODY PUMP

 A pre-choreographed muscle conditioning class utilising barbells, weights and traditional weight training moves to music. This class is renowned for producing fast results.

BODY STEP

The ultimate step class – the world’s fastest way to tone butts and thighs. The group atmosphere is inspiring. The rhythm and energy is addictive.

TONE

A workout for everyone!  Master your technique and maximise your results with LES MILLS TONE, a three-in-one group class to improve strength, cardio and core

GRIT

30 minute high intensity interval training workout that takes you in to overdrive to go hard, get you fitter, super fast. The short sharp demanding exercises combine weightlifting, running and plyometrics for a full body workout that increases aerobic capacity, strength, muscular endurance, metabolism and power. (30 minute class)

KI MAX

A high energy class utilising the skills of boxing and Muay Thai to achieve a full body workout. A great stress release!

LOW IMPACT BODY STEP

Body Step class without the higher-impact moves - perfect for beginners as well as all Body Step enthusiasts.

X TRAINING

An all in one, stations workout using a combination of aerobic and strength training to increase your level of fitness.

Cycle classes

TOP RIDE

Radical Fitness' Top Ride is a fast fat burning fitness program. Benefit from the unique group atmosphere. In the Top Ride classes you can set you own pace and it is a low impact class.

RPM

The original Les Mills indoor cycling class designed for maximum results

SPIN

Another indoor cycling optionset to great music and sure to get your heart pumping.

Yoga-stretching based classes

BODY BALANCE  

A Yoga influenced pre-choreographed exercise program set to uplifting music. Each workout is structured to create harmony between breath and movement, action and relaxation, awareness and concentration.

YOGA 

A blend of Yoga techniques that will stretch and streamline the body, calm the mind and improve postural and breathing habits. Not suitable for pregnant women.

OXIGENO

Oxigeno by Radical Fitness is a Body & Mind program based on Pilates, Yoga and Functional Training with which flexibility, strength and mobility are improved through a series of harmonious and flowing movements intimately connected to breathing.

Older adults (specific) classes

ACTIVE FOR LIFE AQUA 

This is a gentle, light workout for older adults. Suitable for medical and arthritis problems. Land and aqua alternatives are offered.

AQUA MOVERS

Aqua aerobics designed for our more senior participants, set in a relaxed sociable environment.

PRYME MOVERS

This is a gentle, light workout for older adults. Suitable for medical and arthritis problems.

Aquatic group fitness classes

AQUA WORKOUT

Aqua Aerobics, suitable for all levels. You can have either an intermediate workout, or take it a little easier.

DEEP WATER AQUA

This is an aqua class undertaken completely in the deep water.  Participants must be competent in the deep water.

XTREME AQUA

The best of aqua workout with added intensity and cardio. Great for all-round fitness and tone.

 

Classes are on 7 days a week, at a variety of times. You’re sure to find a class to fit in with your schedule!

Classes are included as part of a Health and Wellness Membership or can be paid for casually.
