Queen's Baton Relay at WISAC

The Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay departs from Wangaratta Indoor Sports & Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 14 February and we're excited!  Come along and meet Olympian Belinda Hocking and see our fabulous gymnasts in action.

Wednesday 14th February 2018
Time: Action here between 4pm and 5pm

What will happen:
* Arrival of the impressive Queen’s Baton Convoy in Schilling Drive
* Presentation of the Baton to Belinda and then she will commence the relay along Schilling Drive, leaving at 4.52pm. (the Relay will continue through the streets of Wangaratta, culminating in a Community Celebration at Apex Park)

Get involved: All welcome!
Let’s celebrate at WISAC! All the action will take place on the grassed area at the front entrance of WISAC

* Meet and Greet Belinda Hocking from approx 4.15pm * Gymnastics display (intermediate class) from 4.30pm
* Presentation of baton at 4.45pm

* Cheer the launch of the Queen’s Baton Relay at 4.52pm

* Please note all regular programs continue as normal including swimming lessons and group fitness classes. Please note parking advice below:

Please note:
There will be restricted access to Schilling Drive and the carpark on Wednesday 14 February:
Until 2.30pm: Access to WISAC carpark as normal

2.30pm Schilling Drive and turning circle at WISAC closed to traffic
2.30pm – 4.20pm: Vehicles may exit and enter via Golf Links Lane or Park Lane

4.20pm Golf Links Lane and Edwards St (from Swan St corner to Green St) closed to all traffic
4.20pm – 5.00pm: Vehicles may exit and enter via Park Lane only

5.00pm Schilling Drive re-opens
From 5.10pm Roads along the route between here and Apex Park will re-open as Relay passes through.
